The Mind Gig offer staff INSET and training that supports staff wellbeing and also delivers knowledge and understanding that can be taken into the classroom. Our INSET'S and training are delivered by professional teachers, trained in Psychology, Neuro-linguistic Programming, Emotional Freedom Techniques, Life Coaching, Mindfulness, Mental Health Awareness, Mental Health Care, Behaviour that Challenges and Autism Awareness. All our staff just love sharing this knowledge and understanding with others because they know the fundamental importance of it all.

Bespoke staff INSET and training to strengthen staff wellbeing and help the school community to see the power of that wonderful computer that we all have-our brain! And yes, that power can be harnessed for positive growth!

Our INSET'S and training are bespoke to the school’s needs. After a discussion with the school contact, we will plan a 2-hour or full day INSET or staff training session that will focus on the outcomes of the discussion. Want to Strengthen Staff Mental Wellbeing in your School?

Poor mental health costs employers in the UK between £33 billion and £42 billion a year (Thriving at Work report, 2017). Mental health difficulties are also the biggest cause of sickness absence in this country (Health and Sickness Executive, 2018).

It’s every employer’s responsibility to provide a healthy, safe and inclusive culture. A supportive, inclusive workplace can help to prevent new mental health problems and support people struggling with their mental health to stay at work and thrive.

Some of the benefits of our staff INSET and training are:
  • Improved staff morale and engagement
  • Increased staff commitment and work ethics
  • A healthier, happier, more resilient workforce
  • Improved communication, where staff feel more supported
  • Creating a place where staff can talk openly without fear of stigma
  • Reduced sick leave and absenteeism
  • Building a more inclusive culture
  • Creating a space for staff growth and development
  • Improved staff retention

Kate is a qualified Primary School teacher, Mindfulness and Neuro-Linguistic Practitioner as well as an Emotional Freedom Technique Practitioner, trained in Understanding Mental Health, Understanding Autism, Challenging Behaviour, Life Coaching and a Growth Mindset advocate with over 20 years’ experience working within the education and training sector.

Being a teacher has allowed me to recognise where I believe there are gaps in the development of children and this has led me down the much rewarding path of mental health. I have always been really interested in why some children and adults achieve and why others don’t and all of my wonderings have been answered when I look at mental health, self-esteem, growth mindset and mindfulness. My passion for mental health has led to me teaching Life Coaching skills and understanding that if we can work on changing our thoughts then we really can change our lives. And yes, our thoughts and life outlook can be changed!
